RUSSELLVILLE - fairs & shows

Source: Greencastle Daily Banner 5 Aug 1940 p1

The 1940 annual cattle and horse show sponsored by the Russellville Booster’s Club closed Saturday evening under most satisfactory conditions. The streets downtown were jammed with the people from a large area of territory. The crowd was particularly dense Saturday but on Friday also there was a fine attendance.  The people were there not only to see the attractions of the show but also to spend their money with the business men of the town and to visit among themselves. Russellville  has again successfully called attention to the fact that it is a hospitable place. The show events of Friday were the fine horses and the equally fine fat steers.
