Russellville News -- The Wheat crop is all cut, and the threshing will begin this week.  The crop will be light; quality not good.  The heavy rains and winds have stopped corn plowing.  Or gravel roads are not progressing very fast. We had a heavy storm of wind and rain here Monday evening, which destroyed considerable timber, fences, corn, etc.  The engineers are surveying for the Russellville and Morton gravel road - thanks to Mary Lou

Russellville – Our new town board are: Henry Hargrave, CV Hodskiss and TH Smith. WF Gardner was elected clerk and treasurer without opposition. John Oliver, Democrat, was elected marshall over Wm. Mulligan, Republican but as Oliver is an acting constable it is thought he cannot hold both offices and would thereby be ineligible as marshall. = kz
