SEARS, Alex - injured by bull

Alex. Sears, a hired hand of Sim Lockridge, had a narrow escape from a terrible death yesterday. He was handling some stock when an angry bull, which he was leading rushed at him and forced him violently against a post causing concussion of the lungs and heart. Dr. Leatherman was called and made an examination of his injuries. Mr. Sears remained in an unconscious condition for several hours and is now suffering from internal injuries but it is thought he will recover. Note: Believe Alex Sears buried Forest Hill, Greencastle dates: 2 Nov 1862 – 30 June 1951, age 88 is the same man – whew, he did make it ! – transcribed by kbz
