Wesley Stewart, the Roachdale pool player, who defeated Ellis Newkirk, the Linden amateur, in a game of pool a few days ago and in an altercation which followed made a praiseworthy but only partially successful attempt to bore a pool ball through the conquered gentleman's cranium, was released from durance vile today upon the payment of a $1 fine as chalked up in Squire Jones' court   --- transcribed by kbz
