Noble J. Myers - Will

In the name of God Amen. I, Noble J. Myers of sound mind and memory feel that I am soon to die, make this my last will and testament revoking all my former wills. First I devise that my body be buried decently and my funeral expenses be paid.

Item first I give I devise that all my debts be paid.

Item second I devise that my beloved wife Sarah J. Myers and my children Emily, Eliza Ann, Martha E. , Nathan B. , Preston I. and Cynthey J Myers have and possess the farm I bought of Alva Arrasmith for the term of fifteen years from this date, and that she have money sufficient to put the house in good repair and put a pump in the well and that my property and money be at her disposal during her natural life.

Item third at the death of my beloved wife I wish all my estate both personal and real be equally divided amongst all my children equally share and share.

I hereby constitute and appoint John I. Jennings as my executor of this my last will and testament March 19th, 1851.

State of Indiana, Putnam County set before me Jacob Mc Ginnis clerk of the Probate Court of said county on this 17th day of April 1851 personally appeared Thomas Starks and Bettger Kramer the two subscribing witnesses to the instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Noble J. Myers deceased, who being by me duly sworn upon their oaths depose a say that the within last will was duly executed by the said testator. That at the time executing the same the said testator was of sound mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint whatever and of full age to devise his property that the said testator subscribed his name thereto by making his mark in the presence of the deponents and declared the same to be his last will and testament and that these deponents subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence of and at the request of said testator and in the presence of each other Bettger Kramer, Thomas Starks.


Subscribed and sworn to before me the date above written. Witness my hand and seal, the seal (LB) of said court hereto affixed at Greencastle the 17th day of April 1851. Jacob McGinnis clerk.
