Know all men by presence I, James Robinson of Putnam County, Indiana now being of sound mind do take my last will and testament.

First I direct that my body be decently interred and tombstone be procured with my name and age inscribed on the tombstone and place the same at my grave and have all enclosed with post and paling and as to such worldly estates as pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same in the following manner to wit:

Item 1st I direct that so much of my property be sold on credit of twelve months as will defray my burial expences and and all my just debts,

Item 2nd I direct tha[t] Lavinia, my wife, have full control and benefit of the proceeds of my farm to help her raise all of my children .

Item 3rd I direct that after all of my children have been raised that my wife contnue to reap the benefits of my real estate during her natural life.

Item 4th I direct in case my wife should remarry that my executor herein mentioned to turn her off the farm immediately and stop her from receiving another cent from my estate

Item 5th I direct on the marriage of my wife to another man or her death to sell my land immediately on such credit as will best with the time,

Item 6th I direct my executors to pay my son, Josias, ten dollars to come out of the money of sale of my land.

Item 7th I direct that one dollar be paid my son, Anderson out of the same money as above mentioned.

Item 8th After all the money is collected belonging to my estate I bequeath it to my other eight children viz: Ahijah, Cassandra, Clotilda, Juliana, Eveline, Lawson, Jane and James, share and share alike.

And to effectuate this my intention I appoint Dr. William Matthews and Ahijah Robinson my executors and vest in them the full power and authority to transact all things belonging to my estate in a manner in every respect as I could myself if still living.

In witness whereof I, James Robinson, the testor heave hereunto set my hand and seal of Sept. 1845

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above James Robinson as his last will and testament in presence of as who hereunto subscribe our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of said testor and in the presence of each other.
