The Wickersham Family In America

This prominent Quaker family played an important role in the settlement of America from PA to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Wickershams were also active in the causes of antislavery and civil rights, women's suffrage and women's rights, temperance and education. A fascinating historical essay by Dr. Yoder provides an early history of the Wickershams in England and America. This impressive family history records over 12,000 individuals beginning with Thomas in 1660 and continuing by generations down to the present. Many photographs. Inscriptions of 16 select cemeteries of Green, Monroe, and Stony Creek Township, plus New Dayton Cemetery in Franklin Township. Recorded Sept 1980 through April 1981. Copyright 1982.
Stoney Creek Cemeteries: Includes all township cemeteries with exception of Union Cemetery which was recorded by others: Cedar Cemetery, Cemetery west of Maxville, Popular Run Cemetery, Swingly Cemetery. Thornburg Homestead Cemetery, Windsor Cemetery, plus an Unidentified Cemetery.Monroe Township: Includes all known township cemeteries: Garringer Homestead cemetery, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Rehobeth Cemetery, and an Unidentified Cemetery. Franklin Towship: Includes only New Dayton/Bear Creek Cemetery. Green Township: Includes all cemeteries except Fairview Cemetery and Hopewell Cemetery which were done by others: Emmetsville United Brethren Cemetery, McVey Memorial Forest, Steubenville Cemetery, and Samuel Caylor Homestead Cemetery.
