This church was established about 1980 and is currently active.

FRIENDS' MEETINGS.
Poplar Run was set up in 1846, after the "separation." The leaders were Mark Diggs, John Diggs, Henry Moorman, Eli Townsend. Recorded minister, Elihu Carter.
Their meeting- house was first of logs; the second, and present, is a frame, built in 1856.
Poplar Run and Cedar compose a Monthly Meeting.

Poplar Run Friends Meeting
Location: 3 miles west of Unionport, Stony Creek twp, Randolph Co.,
IN.
Date organized as a meeting: Indulged meetings were held under the jurisdiction of Sparrow Creek Monthly Meeting as early as 1841.
A preparative meeting was established in 1845.
As a monthly meeting: Oct 1948.
Organized by authority of: New Garden Quarterly Meeting.
Origin of name: Named for the poplar trees used in the construction of
the first log meetinghouse.
Family names of charter or early members: PARKER, JACKSON, MENDENHALL, COX, DIGGS, HILL, LAMB, MOORMAN, and MOORE.
Present membership: 43.
History of physical facilities: The first meetinghouse, a log structure, was constructed about 1840 and served Poplar Run Friends until a frame building was erected in 1856.
The present meetinghouse was constructed in 1883 and has been remodeled at least twice.
Other information: The Poplar Run Friends Cemetery is located one-half mile east of the meetinghouse.
