Randolph County Records of Wills 
Book 1 Page 426 and 427.

Levin Cox  of the County of Randolph and State of Indiana do make and publish this my last Will and Testament.

Item 1
I hereby give and bequeath (after the death of myself and my wife) to my daughter Elen Friar and her lawful heirs after her death the following described Real Estate towit. The North half of the East half of the South East quarter of Section One (1) in Township Twenty (20) North of Range Twelve East also one acre off of the North end of the South east quarter of the South east quarter of said section in all estimated t contain Forty - one acres more or less.

Item 2
Further it is my will that after the death of myself and my wife Ellen Cox all the remaining part of my property both real and personal by equally divided between my following named sons and daughters and their legal representatives towit;  Mary McMurry,  Sarah Painter,  John Cox,  Joseph Cox,  Jane Taylor  and  James Cox, full provision having been made in my life time for my daughter Elen Friar and my son  Jesse Cox.

Item 3
Before the last named and distribution it is my will that all my just debts and necessary funeral expenses for myself and beloved wife.

Item 4
I hereby nominate and appoint John A. Moorman of Randolph County State of Indiana the executor of this my last Will and Testament.

                    Be it remembered that on the 28th day of August 1876 Charles H. Stanley one of the subscribed witnesses to the within and foregoing last Will and Testament of Levin Cox late of Said county deceased , personally appeared before R A Leavell clerk of the circuit court of Randolph County in the State of Indiana and being duly sworn by the clerk of said court upon his oath declared and testified as follows that is to say that on the 14th of December 1870 he saw the said Levin Cox sign his name to said instrument in writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that this deponent at the same time heard the said Levin Cox declare the said instrument in writing to be his last Will and Testament and that the said instrument in writing was at the same time at attested and subsribed by the said Chalres H. Stanley and James M. Clevenger in the presence of said testor and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses therto and that said Levin Cox was at the time and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid of full age (that is more than Twenty - one years of age) and of sound and deposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.

Leavell clerk of the circuit court of Randolph County Indiana do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Levin Cox has been duly admitted to Probate and duly proved by the testimony of Charles H. Stanley one of the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said Will and of the testimony of the said Charles H. Stanley in proof thereof has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 1 at pages 426 and 427 of the Records of Wills of said county

In Attestation whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affix the seal of said county at Winchester this 28th Day of August 1878
