Farmland, Ind. April 9, - Mrs. Gertrude Adams, 58, of San Diego, Cal., died at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. She was a former Muncie and Farmland resident and was stricken while visiting relatives in Indiana. Surviving are the husband, N.T. Adams; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Morgan, Mrs. Mary Todd and Miss Marjorie Adams, all of San Diego, Cal.; and three sons, J.O. and Rolla Adams both of Muncie, and Marvin Adams of Seattle, Wash. The body was brought to the Thornburg mortuary here and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Sarah Adams, Teacher For Many Years,
Succumbs to Pneumonia

      Sarah Elizabeth Adams, 90, a former school teacher and one of Randolph county's oldest natives, died of pneumonia developing from influenza at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at her late home at 636 West Oak street, Union City.
      Well known throughout the county because of her long life in this community and her widely extended years of teaching, her death will be greatly grieved. The deceased had been a widow a great number of years.
      Sarah Adams was always a faithful member of the Union City Christian church and for years had been active in W.C.T.U. work. She taught for many years in the Union City West Side schools and many other schools in Randolph county.
      Surviving are the following brothers and sisters all residents of Union City; Dave Moist, North Howard street; Mrs. Anna Clear, Oak street; Harvey Moist, North Plum street, and Mrs. Francis Chamness, who resided with Mrs. Adams on West Oak street.
      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the late residence. Rev. Ben Holroyd will officiate. Burial will be made in the City cemetery. The body will be removed from the Brooks Funeral home in Union City to the residence on Oak street this evening.

MRS. MARY ADAMS DIES AFTER
LINGERING ILLNESS

      Mrs. Mary (Painter) Adams, aged seventy-five years, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Maggie Mills, two miles southwest of Farmland Friday night, after a lingering illness of cancer of the liver. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ella Harvey of Nebraska, and two sons, Levi and Tine of Farmland, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were conducted at Maxville Sunday morning by Rev. Harvey Thornburg.

Farmland, Ind- March 31.- The funeral of Mrs. Mary (Painter) Adams, 75, who died from cancer at the home of her sister, two miles west of here, Saturday morning, took place at the Maxville Church today and was largely attended . She was the widow of a soldier of the civil war.
