HIATT FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON

Well Known Carpenter is Claimed by Death at Hospital

          Funeral services for Clarence Alta Hiatt, 72, who died Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock at the Randolph County hospital, will be conducted this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the East street Christian church in Winchester. Burial will be in Fountain Park cemetery.
          Rev. Leonard Wright will officiate, assisted by Rev. Leo McKinley.
          Mr. Hiatt, a lifelong resident of Randolph county, had been in ill health for some time. By occupation he was a carpenter.
          Surviving are the wife, Sarah; one daughter, Marjorie Day of Lebanon; one son, Claude, at home, and one grandson.
          The body was prepared for burial at the Clark, Maynard and Potter funeral home and returned to the residence on Watson street Saturday afternoon.

        HIATT, Dr. Jehu, b. Grayson Co. Va. Feb. 5, 1802-d. Oct. 14, 1891 ae 89y 8m 9d, s/o John who d. when he was an infant. His mother was Lydia Stanford Hiatt. He m. Sarah Ann Thomas in 1829 and Came to R.C. in 1830. She d. in 1863 and bur. in a grave prepared by himself adjolning the cem. on the North. (Name of Cem. not listed).
