Obituaries

The following article, written by friend, Fred L. Obenchain, appeared in the "Spotted Poland China Bulletin" in August of 1952, upon the passing of William Otterbin Hodson:
"WE HAVE LOST A GOOD FRIEND AND HELPER
----------
Nowhere in life's experience can one feel so helpless as in the trial of the passing on of an associate. Few men in our breed has given more freely of his time and ability than has Mr. Hodson.
The trip was never too long, or the night too dark, for him to say no when called on to drive a long distance to a hog sale, or to judge a State Show and Sale. We drove with him over miles on miles and he was never too tired out to reflect his excellent jovial nature. Never ruffled, or of a bad humor toward anyone, his whole demeanor was one of tolerance and kindness.
It just hits harder, and hurts the more, as you get older, to have those closest to you stricken.
Mr. Hodson was fair, honest and upright in all his ways, and his passing is a severe loss to us all."
