----------
Farmland, Ind. May 24.- Mrs. Eliza McNees, 73, died at 9:30 o'clock tonight at the home of Mrs. Alice Sheppard in Farmland. The only known survivor is a niece, Mrs. Pine Adams, of Muncie. The body was removed to the Thornburg funeral home here, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Farmland, Ind., March 6.- John McNees, 76, a lifelong citizen of this place, died at his home here Saturday. He had been in feeble health from paralysis for the past two years. Surviving are the widow and a son in Anderson. His funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Thornburg funeral parlors.  Burial at the Maxville Cemetery.

          John B. McNees died at 10:00 last Friday night [Jan. 22nd]. His funeral and burial took place at Maxville with Masonic honors on Monday. Rev. L. N. D. R. Johnson preached the funeral sermon.
          John B. McNees was born in Washington Co., Tenn., July 16, 1826. He was 77 yrs. 6 mo. and 16 days of age at the time of his death. His parents were John M. and Mary A. McNees. His father was a native of North Carolina and his mother was a native of Tennessee. When John was 4 years old the family moved from Tennessee to Indiana coming directly to the farm where he has lived practically all his life. He was among the oldest and most highly respected residents of Randolph Co.
          He was married to Sarah Hiatt August 5, 1847. They were the parents of 8 children; 4 sons and 4 daughters. Two children, Mrs. Mahala Symonds and Mrs. Martha Clevenger are deceased. The widow and the six living children attended the funeral. The children are: Ella L.[male?], Harvey E., Calvin W., and Jesse McNees; Mrs. Sabina Ross of Parker, and Mrs. Mary Craft of Nottingham, Wells Co.

          John McNees  was born September 9, 1805, and died September 9, 1888.  The deceased moved from Tennessee to this State and settled where Georgetown now is in the year 1829, which entitled him to rank among the pioneer settlers in this county, having resided here fifty-eight years. He was the oldest of his father's large family, of whom preceded him to the spirit land except his youngest sister, Martha McIntire. He was an adherent of the Disciple (Campbellite) church, and lived to become an aged patriarch of a large family connection, some of the forth generation witnessing his burial. Brief funeral services were conducted at Maxville church by Rev. John A.Moorman, after which he was interred in Maxville cemetery by the side of loved ones who had preceded hit to the great beyond.

          Marshall McNees, of Farmland, after a lingering illness, died last Friday night, of Lung fever.
          Mr. McNees enlisted under Capt. J. W. Macy in the 84th Ind. Volunteers and served his country well during the war of the Rebellion.  Thus, one by one, these veterans pass away, and only the sacrifices they made remain to tell the story of their lives.7NBSP; Mr. McNees leaves behind him four children, his wife having preceded him to the grave about ten years.

        McNEES, Alfred N., b. Jan. 12, 1818 in Tenn s/o John &: Sarah (McUllum). He was in the army in 1861 and came home with a disease which caused his death Nov 10,1887 ae 69y 10m 2d. He is surv. by 4 sons. His wf, the fcrmer Tabitha Smith who he m. July 1840 is dec'd. They are bur. Maxville Cem. He was a lumber dealer.
