Virginia R. Painter, 93
----------
WINCHESTER - Virginia Rose Bourke Painter, 93 died Friday in Community Care Center. Mrs. Painter, a lifelong Randolph County resident, had lived in Ridgeville, where she and her husband had owned and operated Painter Funeral Home. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and past worthy matron of Acacia Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, Ridgeville.
          Survivors include five grandchildren, Sandra L. Painter (husband; Larry), Randolph L. Painter, James B. Painter, William D. Painter, and Connie Elliott; nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Merrill Wise Painter, two sons, and a daughter are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Thayer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
          Calling will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Thayer Funeral Home, where Eastern Star services will begin at 6:30.

RIDGEVILLE - Merril W. Painter, 63, died Friday morning at Randolph County Hospital, Winchester. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Embalming and a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, he was owner and operation of Painter Funeral Home in Ridgeville for 17 years and worked with the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland for the past two years. Mr. Painter was also a member of United Bethel Methodist Church, Ridgeville, OES Chapter 239 and the Masonic Lodge in Ridgeville.
          Surviving are his wife, Virginia; two sons, Lee Arthur, Winchester and William M., Ridgeville; his mother, Mrs. Anna Painter, Winchester, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
          Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at United Bethel Church, Ridgeville, with Rev. Paul Zimmerman and Rev. Lawrence West officiating. Burial will be in Maxville Cemetery, Farmland. Masonic services will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.

Carl A. Painter, 72, Is Dead at Farmland
----------
Farmland, Ind., Oct. 12 - Carl A. Painter, 72, Farmland plumber for 40 years, died at his home here at 9:30 o'clock this morning, after an extended illness. He was a member of the Farmland town board for several years.
          Survivors are the widow, Emma, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Spangler of Winchester, and Mrs. Walter Pursley of Indianapolis; two sons, Morris of Farmland, and Ceron of West Alexandria, O.; five grandchildren and two brothers, Lee Painter of Ridgeville, and Noble of Redkey.
          The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Christian Church, with the Rev. Mr. Heald officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Thornburg mortuary until 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, when the body will be removed to the home.

Carl Painter Of Farmland Dies At Home

          Carl A. Painter, 72, died at his home in Farmland at 9:30 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. Mr. Painter, a retired plumber, had recently been a town board member in Farmland, was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge, and a member of the Christian church.
          Survivors are the wife, Emma; two daughters, Mary Spangler of Winchester and Mrs. Walter Pursley of Indianapolis; two sons, Morris of Farmland and Ceron of West Alexandria, Ohio; two brothers, Lee of Ridgeville and Noble of Redkey; and five grand children. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Ridgeville Man Dies Following Heart Attack
----------
          Jesse E. Painter, 64, a resident of Ridgeville for several years, passed away suddenly at his home around 12 o'clock noon Tuesday following a heart attack.
         Survivors include the widow, Martha, and several cousins. The body was removed to the Middleton mortuary in Ridgeville where it will remain for services to be held at 2 p.m. (DST) Thursday with Rev. Harmoning, pastor of the Nazarene church, in charge. Interment will be in the Saratoga cemetery.

Funeral Services For Painter Child

          Carolyn Sue Painter, small daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Merrill W. Painter, died Thursday afternoon at the family residence in Ridgeville, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. Geist and Rev. George Addington. Burial was made in the Maxville cemetery.

          The funeral of Mrs. Martha Somerville Painter, 72, widow of James Painter, who died of paralysis, at her home west of Farmland, Thursday night, was held at the Christian church at Farmland, Sunday afternoon. Burial was made at the Maxville Cemetery.

          Mrs. Henry Davis, of this city, was called to Farmland Sunday by the death of her mother, Mrs. Mariah Good Painter, age 71, widow of Thomas Painter, who died about three months ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Wm. Greene, of Farmland, and three sons, Carl, of Farmland, Lee and oble, of Ridgeville; three brothers, John Good of Parker, Henry Good, of Farmland, and Chas. Good, of Arkansas. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Farmland Tuesday morning, the Rev. Zelma Mills officiating. Burial at Maxville.

          Tom Painter, 72, died at his home in Farmland, Tuesday, of heart trouble. His widow, three sons; Carl, Lee, and Noble Painter; two daughters, Mrs. Golva Green and Mrs. Nola Davis, and one sister, Mrs. Maggie *Miller, survive him. Funeral will be held this (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock, at the Christian church. Interment at Maxville cemetery.
