MODOC - Edker Leo Sexton, 75, of Modoc, died Thursday, November 16, 2006, in Reid Hospital, Richmond. He was born in Monticello, KY on March 8, 1931, the son of Robert and Leona Marsh Sexton. He had resided in the Modoc area for the past 38 years.

Edker L. Sexton, 75
Edker served with the Navy during the Korean conflict, and had been employed at several area casket manufacturing companies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Opal Larr Sexton; 7 children, Danny Sexton (Christy) of New Castle, David Sexton of Modoc, Steve Sexton (Kathy) of Muncie, Edker Sexton, Jr. of Muncie, Phyllis Henry (Sean) and Maria Smith (Randy), both of Ohio, and Susan Sheppard (Casey) of Modoc; 13 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; a sister, Lorene Brake; and a brother, Elzo Sexton. A daughter, Shirley Diane Sexton, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, in Culberson Funeral Home, Modoc. Rev. Albert Oren will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The Video Tribute and online guest book will be available at www.culbersonfh.com.
