Dorothy L. Abner, 72, of Indianapolis, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at her residence. Born Feb. 3, 1930, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of William C. and Laura (Phipps) Abner, both deceased. Mrs. Abner was a homemaker. Prior to moving to Indianapolis five years ago, she had been a resident of St. Paul. She was a member of the St. Paul Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, David Roach of Greensburg, Ronnie Roach of Salem, and Donnie Roach of Jeffersonville; three daughters, Linda Roach of Indianapolis, Connie Carrol of Shelbyville, and Joyce Roach of Arizona; one brother, David Abner of Shelbyville; one sister, Joan (Mrs. John) Cooper of Manilla; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County, with the Rev. L.J. Poe officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul.
