James Michael "Jim" Bever Sr., 38, of Connersville, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, as the result of an automobile accident. Born Aug. 2, 1964, in Connersville, he was the son of the late Michael K. Bever and Paula Moore Bever Kirschner. Mr. Bever was a 1982 graduate of Connersville High School. He also served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Grandview Word of Life Church where he was a member of the board and also a Sunday school superintendent. He was employed at Central Soya in Morristown. On Sept. 14, 1986, he married Lori Anne Turney; she survivors. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Paula (Mrs. Ron) Kirschner of Connersville; one daughter, Veronica Bever of Connersville; one son, James M. Bever Jr. of Connersville; one grandmother, Jean Bever of Connersville; two brothers, Richard (wife Kim) Bever, and Christopher Kirschner, both of Connersville; and one sister, Angela (Mrs. Andy) Crawford of Connersville. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grandview Word of Life Church, with the Rev. Larry Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery in Connersville, and will include graveside military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Thompson Brown Chapel is handling arrangements.
