Larry Dale Goodwin

Larry Dale Goodwin, 57, of New Castle, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. Born Oct. 25, 1948, in Fleming County, Ky., he was the son of Otha Dean and Mereal Agnes (Latham) Goodwin, both deceased. He married Alicia Roberts May 29, 1999; she survives.

Mr. Goodwin worked for Daimler Chrysler Corp. for the past 28 years and was previously employed at BusterŐs Concrete in New Castle. He was a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge #147, New Castle Moose Legion and the New Castle Eagles Lodge. A lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, he received a fellowship degree from the Loyal Order of the Moose May 31, 1993. He had also held the office of governor for five terms and currently held the position of Jr. Past Governor.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four children, Clair "Katy" Goodwin of home, Toby Goodwin of New Castle, Kristie (Mrs. Matt) Hetzner of Greentown and Alisha (Mrs. Donnie) Hancock of Spiceland; seven grandchildren; and 14 brothers and sisters, Elsie (Mrs. Denver) Madden, Elizabeth Wilson, Wilma Clark, Phyllis (Mrs. Mike) Moore and Linda (Mrs. Roger) Jones, all of New Castle, Loretta "Susie" Saunders of Anderson, Betty Kemmer of Daleville, Vernon Goodwin (and wife Ann) of Hopkinsville, Ky., William, Robert and Michael (and wife Cathy) Goodwin, all of New Castle, and Herbert, Otha and Steve Goodwin, all of Indianapolis

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Clayborn and Dixie Goodwin, and one brother, James Goodwin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Rev. Charles Dugger and Chaplain Nathan Brewington officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a Moose Lodge Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clair Goodwin Education Fund c/o the funeral home.
