Ray Heck, 65

Ray Heck, 65, of Morristown, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. Born Dec. 22, 1936, in Morristown, he was the son of Richard and Mildred (Linville) Heck, both deceased. He married Sandra Mae Webster on March 9, 1958; she survives. Mr. Heck was a 1954 graduate of Morristown High School and received a certification for lawncare from Purdue University. He worked in sales and also owned lawncare and asphalt sealing businesses. He was a member of the Morristown American Legion. Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Rod Heck of Greenfield; two daughters, Lisha Smith of Morristown and Missy McVey of Shelbyville; one brother, Bill Heck of Kokomo; three sisters, Pam Thomas of Tennessee and Peggy Ross and June Ryan, both of Indianapolis; and seven grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield, with Warren Engel officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
