From 1926 until at least mid-1931 the Daily Republican ran a series of weekly reminiscences by John F Joyce. I suspect that much of the information is drawn from published histories of Rush County. In 1931 he wrote a few paragraphs on early settlers of Rush County, and then strayed off into court cases and other items from Rushville newspapers of the 1870s and early 1880s.
