Welcome to Spencer County, Indiana

Genealogy and History

Check out our NEW  items. I've just added new items sent in by Steve Meyer. I'll be adding chapters to it in the next few weeks. We have obituaries sent in by Tamara Kinkaide, and are happy to have any you may have. Don Rubarts has given us the 1820 census of Spencer County complete with index. Please share any obituaries, marriages records, census pages or anything else you may have gathered in your research. We also have some Mystery Photos, and soon will have some Deeds and Wills. Take a look around, see if you might have something you can add. Come back often. My name is Peggy Bowen and I am the Coordinator for Spencer County.

The Indiana USGenWeb Project

InGenWeb Home Page (includes all Indiana County links)

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Indiana Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Indiana, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

If you would like to host an Indiana county, contact the Indiana State Coordinator, Debby Beheler.
