MARRIAGES

From The Planter

The following marriage notices reflected those printed in The Planter and the Rockport Advertiser weekly newspapers published between the years of 1848 and 1860. However, the preserved collection, originally copied by the Salt Lake City Genealogical Society was incomplete and some issues and pages were missing.
Many of the following newspaper notices provided additional information regarding the marriage such as the name of the person performing the ceremony, the location where the ceremony was performed, and often the names of the parents of the bride or groom.
For a complete listing of early Spencer County, Indiana Marriages refer to the Spencer County Library, Genealogy Department, 210 Walnut, Rockport, Indiana. 47635
