SANDALE CEMETERY

This small cemetery is located in township of Luce, village of Sand Ridge. About 20 homes in this small village. Their used to be digs for sand on the ridges that was exported to make fine pottery.

All pictures in the photo Album are from the work of Donna Schuss and I thank her for her time and labor. I compiled all the information from the pictures, Ancestry.com, newspapers in area, from the DAR records and from Find a Grave. The below list of people buried here is the result.

To get to this cemetery all you have to do is go east or west to the intersection of Hwy 66 and Hwy 161 in the southern part of Spencer Co. It is on the NW corner of that intersection and easily seen from road and has a sign

It is said that this area from Newburgh to Grandview was a major part of the underground railroad. I hope to explore this more in the future.
