Steuben County Inventory Sale Records

Submitted By: Cheryl Pocock Gleason

Inventory Sale Records contain detailed lists of a person's possessions at the time they were sold. They often list the sale price
of the item along with the purchaser's name. Usually these inventory sale records were gathered as a part of the probate process
for a deceased person. Sometimes, the inventories were provided as a part of a guardianship.
The information in these books approximately covers the early 1860s through 1930.

The Steuben County, Indiana Inventory Sale Records Books are now located in the Reference Department at the Carnegie Public Library of Steuben County.
