Son of Elihu and Almeda Hawkins; born November 28, 1893, Vickery, Ohio. Moved with parents to Jamestown, Steuben County, Ind. in 1900. At the time of his induction into service, December 11, 1917, he  was living in Aberdeen, S. D. Sent to Sacramento, Cal.; assigned to Signal Corps unit. Died of disease September 21, 1918, Sacramento, Cal. Buried at Jamestown, Steuben County, Ind.
