Son of James D. and Nellie Ruple Keckler (deceased); born March 8, 1897, Weaver Station, Ohio. When three years old moved with his parents to Steuben County, Ind. Farmer. Entered service June 27, 1918, Angola, Ind. Sent to Vocational Training School, Indianapolis, Ind. Transferred to Camp Taylor, Ky.; assigned to Headquarters Company, 18th Training Battalion, Field Artillery Replacement Depot. Died of  influenza October 14, 1918, Camp Taylor. Buried at Flint, near Angola, Ind.
