Son of Obene V. and Anna Lyons; born May 5, 1898, Orland, Steuben County, Ind. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army May 1, 1917; sent to Columbus Barracks, Ohio. Transferred to Brownsville, Tex.; assigned to Company I, 4th Infantry. Transferred to Camp Green, N. C. Overseas in May, 1918; assigned to Company I, 59th Infantry, 4th Division. Killed in action October 6, 1918, near Verdun, France. Buried in American Military Cemetery, Le Grand Pont, France.
