Son of John and Josephine Porter; born February 26, 1889, Metz, Steuben County, Ind. Newspaper cartoonist, Lansing, (Mich.) State Journal. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army in April, 1917, Lansing, Mich. Sent to Camp McArthur, Tex.; assigned to Reconnaisance Section, map-drawing. Overseas in February, 1918; assigned to 119th Field Artillery. Wounded in action August 12, 1918, and died two days later. (Place unknown.)
