Son of Amasa D. and Ella A. Ransom; born October 13, 1884, Quincy, Mich. Graduated from University of Michigan Medical School, 1913. Moved to Hamilton, Ind. same year, and opened medical practice. Enlisted August 10, 1917; overseas two weeks later. Attached to 5th Cameron Highlanders Regiment. Killed in action September 26, 1918, Poperinghe, West Flanders. Awarded British Military Cross for bravery. Buried, Haringhe, Belgium. Survived by widow, Lou H. Ransom, and two children, Dale Nelson, and Elwyn Glenn Ransom, Ann Arbor, Mich.
