Other information:
The Edward BAKERs [in-laws] came to USA in 1850 settling initially in
LaGrange Co., but moving to Steuben Co., IN in 1859. The Jacob WOLFs
lived in Scott Twp., sold our in early 1870's and moved to Kansas near
present day Ft. Riley, staying there for several years where daughter
Mary Alice was born. Returned to Steuben Co., IN before May, 1878 when
son William Peter WOLF was born. Frank and Loma lived in Jackson Twp.
For several years after their marriage as all 4 of their daughters were
born on the 40 A. Frank owned in just west of Bass Lake. At the death of
Elizabeth MENGES WOLF in 1906, Frank and Loma moved into the home with
Jacob WOLF, where there was 72 A. west of Angola. Subsequently, this was
bought from Jacob WOLF and the FW BAKERs lived and raised their
daughters on "Whipporwill Ridge". The 4 daughters all attended Tri-State
College and all taught school early in their lives.
