LAURA J. (GOODRICH) ROBINSON ABBOTT, 07 Jan 1849-07 Jul 1914

                   LAURA J. GOODRICH
Daughter of John T. and Polly M. Goodrich, was born in 
Delaware Co., New York, on Jan. 7, 1849.  When about five 
years old the family removed to Noble county, Ind., where 
they lived for about ten years, and then moved to Steuben 
county, and have resided here since that time.  She was 
married to Chancy Robertson, and to them one son, Albert, was 
born, now living in Canada.
   In 1875 she was united in marriage to John Abbott, and to 
them two sons, Jay and John were born, and both survive.  Mr. 
Abbott died in May, 1905.  After a protracted illness Mrs. 
Abbott passed from this life on July 7, 1914, at the age of 
65 years, six months.  She leaves besides the three sons, two 
sisters and two brothers, four half sisters and two half-
brothers, and five grandchildren, who with many friends mourn 
her departure.  Many years ago she united with the United 
Brethren church, and ever lived in that faith.

NOTE:  The above obituary said she was married to Chancy 
Robertson.  The cemetery books, her husband John's obit and  
www.familysearch.org  all list the last name as Robinson.

   Laura J. (Goodrich) Robinson Abbott, 07 Jan 1849 - 07 Jul 
1914, on 08 Nov 1876 in Branch County, Michigan, married her 
2nd husband, John Abbott, 07 Jun 1847 - 02 May 1905.  They 
are buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Steuben County, 
Indiana.  Laura was the daughter of John T. and Polly 
M./Mattie (Ellis) Goodrich.  John was the son of Melver and 
Mary W. (____) Abbott.  Laura's 1st husband was Chauncey 
Robinson, no other information.

Child of the 1st marriage, Albert Robinson, born about 1869, 
is listed as Albert Abbott in the 1880 census.

CHILDREN OF THE MARRIAGE TO JOHN ABBOTT:
   Jay R. Abbott, 30 May 1876 - 15 Nov 1962, married Flora 
(Sams) Abbott, born in Branch County, Michigan, 07 Jul 1877 - 
10 Apr 1975.  Flora was the daughter of Daniel N. Sams, 1852 
- 1923, and Martha Ann (Johns) Sams, 1853 - 1940.  They are 
all buried at Jackson Prairie Cemetery.
   John L. Abbott, 09 May 1880 - Aug 1962, married Dora M. 
Hanson, 1877 - 1949.  They are buried at Jackson Prairie 
Cemetery.
