STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1904, page 1, column 7 MALVINA (TILLOTSON) ABBOTT, 03 Jul 1809 - 12 Oct 1904 Malvina Tillotson was born in New Lebanon, Columbia county, New York, July 3, 1809. She was married to Rufus Chauncey Abbott, April 30, 1826, at Sherburn, Chenango, New York. To them were born ten children all of whom survive her except the eldest son. She leaves also twenty-eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great- grandchildren. She died at the home of her daughter in Toledo, Ohio, Oct. 12, 1904, aged 95 years, 3 months and 9 days. Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church at Fremont, Sunday morning, Oct. 16, 1904, by Rev. Reichelderfer. Interment in the Jamestown cemetery. ITEM #2, page 6, column 2 Mrs. Abbott, of Toledo, a lady who had reached the age or 95 years, was buried in the Jamestown cemetery last Sunday. She was the grandmother of Mrs. Effie Cooper. ITEM #3, Mr. and Mrs. Shobb, of Toledo, and Mrs. Mary Burrell, of Arkansas, accompanied the remains of Grandma Abbott from Toledo to this place. The funeral was held at Fremont, and she was laid to rest beside her husband in the Jamestown cemetery. Her age was upwards of 95 years, and she with her husband were pioneers of Steuben county, owning and residing on the farm now owned by A. M. Corey.
