STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 1901, pg. 1, col. 1 ISABELL HOBBS ALLEN, 11 May 1807 - 10 Jan 1901 Mrs. Isabell Hobbs Allen was born in Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, May 11, 1807, and died in Jamestown township, Steuben county, Indiana, January 10, 1901, aged 93 years, 7 months and 29 days. In early life she moved with her parents to Genesee county, N. Y. She was united in marriage with Bradley Allen, Feb. 22, 1827. Their home was in Genesee county until 1865, when they sold their farm and moved to Jamestown township, her late home, where her husband died May 7, 1872. Nine children were born to them, five of whom survive her - Orin B., of Elba, N.Y., Andrew, of Augusta, Mich., Eli and Almeda Allen and Mrs. Eugene Abramson, who have cared for her in her declining years. She was a kind companion, an affectionate mother, was loved by her children and respected by all who knew her. Funeral took place at the Best school house in Jamestown township, Saturday, Jan. 12, Elder C. S. Medbury officiating.
