AMERMAN, 16 May 1825 - 14 Mar 1899 (picture included) The subject of the above sketch was born in Richland county, Ohio, May 16, 1825, and died at his home in Salem township, Steuben county, Indiana, March 14, 1899, aged 78 years, 9 months and 28 days. He was married February 11, 1847, to Gitte M. Hall. To the union were born nine children, five sons and four daughters. The wife, three sons and two daughters survive him. He was converted in 1851, and united with the M. E. church, and lived a true, consistent christian life until called to receive his heavenly reward. In 1861, Mr. Amerman and family removed from the old home in Ohio, to Steuben county, settling on the farm where he died. His life was a blessing to the community in which he lived, and he will long be kindly remembered by his neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at Salem Center, Thursday, March 16, conducted by Rev. F. M. Kemper, of Angola. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Peter D. Amerman, 1848 - 1908, married Cynth B. (Bryan) Amerman, 1858 - no date of death cut on tombstone, buried at Block Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. William S. Amerman, 1855 - 1944, married 1st, Frances R. (Silvey) Amerman, 1858 - 1911. They are buried at Block cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Married 2nd, Lillie (Hall) Amerman Harpham. Henry N. Amerman, 05 Mar 1861 - 23 Oct 1923, married Eva S. (Jackson) Amerman, 23 Mar 1858 - 11 Apr 1936. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana.
