CHARLES BACHELOR, 21 JAN 1821 - 27 JUNE 1904

   Charles Bachelor was born near Madison, Lake county, Ohio, Jan. 21, 
1821, and died in Angola, Indiana, June 26, 1904, aged 83 years, 5 months 
and 5 days.
   Funeral services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. Henrietta 
Arnold, in Angola, Tuesday, June 28, under auspices of Angola Lodge No. 
236, F. & A.M.  Burial at Lake Gage.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

   Charles Bachelor, 21 Jan 1821 - 26 Jun 1904, in 1844 married Eliza 
(Miller) Bachelor, 1818 - 21 Dec 1883.  They are buried at Lake Gage 
Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  Charles was the son of Solomon 
Bachelor who died 15 Dec 1832 in Ohio.  His mother was Anna (Perry) 
Bachelor, 16 Mar 1800 - 20 Aug 1864.  His stepfather was Wyman Parker, 10 
Oct 1787 - 20 Aug 1864.  Wyman and Anna are buried at Lake Gage Cemetery.  
Eliza was the daughter of Heber and Rhoda (Moon) Miller.  

   Son: Charles A. Bachelor, married 1st Amaretta (Bliss) Bachelor, 1853 - 
1886.  Amaretta is buried at Lake Gage Cemetery.  Charles A. Bachelor's 2nd 
wife was Elizabeth Segma (Weicht) Bachelor, 24 Jun 1862, no date of death.  
Elizabeth Segma was the daughter of Leopold and Catherine (Schaab) Weicht. 
No record of Charles A. and Elizabeth Segma's burial place.
   Sister:  Henrietta (Bachelor) Arnold, 1824 - 1909, on 15 Mar 1866, 
married Martin Arnold, 1812 - 25 Jun 1878.  She was his 2nd wife.  
Henrietta is buried at Lake Gage Cemetery.  Martin is buried at Flint 
Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Sister:  Marantha (Bachelor) Rogers, about 1830 - Apr 1864, aged 33 
years, 6 months ande 2 days, married James Rogers.  Marantha is buried at 
Lake Gage Cemetery.  No record of James burial place.

The information in "Cemeteries of Steuben County, 1990," by Audree Seibel 
Lewis seems to be confusing and incorrect.  Page 258 states that "Salena 
Mary (Weicht), 1850 - 1910, Mrs. Joseph Butler...Dau. of Dr. Leopold 
Weicht and Catherine (Schaab) Weicht.  Salena was 1st married to Charles A. 
Bachelor." 
 The Marriage Records of Steuben County, Indiana, show that Joseph Butler 
married Salena M. Weicht on 31 Mar 1881.  Charles A. Bachelor married 
Segma Weicht on 29 Jan 1887. 
 Salena (Weicht) Butler's Death Record, Steuben County Courthouse, Book 
CO. 1907-1927, page 23, shows she died 01 Sep 1910, daughter of (Dr.) 
William Weicht and Elizabeth (Newborn) s/b Newbaur.  Salena was born 19 
Oct 1850, nearly 2 years before Leopold and Catherine were married.  
Leopold Weicht's obituary (Steuben Republican, 12 Feb 1896, p. 5, c 5, 
lists Elizabeth S. Bachelor as a daughter.
