STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1893, page 1, column 4 CHRISTOPHER BAKER, 18 Apr 1836 - 23 Jan 1893 DIED at his home in Angola, Jan. 23, 1893, Christopher Baker, aged 56 years, 9 months and 5 days. Deceased was born in Loudon county, Virginia, April 18, 1836, and when 6 months old moved with his parents to Ohio, and resided there until the spring of 1850, when he moved to Otsego township, this county. He was married to Rosamond Watkins, Aug. 28, 1859. To them were born three children. She departed this life, Feb. 13, 1876. He was again united in marriage, May 24, 1877, to Amy J. Fox. To them were born two children. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and a loving father. He united with the M. E. church in the spring of 1868, and for thirty years has led a consistent christian life. The last weeks of his life were full of faith. It was a real benediction to visit him and hear his words of hope. Christopher married 1st, Rosamond A. (Watkins) Baker who died 13 Feb 1876, age 37 years and 1 month. He married 2nd, Amy Jane (Fox) Baker, no further information on her. Children with 1st wife: Frank J. Baker, died 27 Oct 1874, age 1 month and 26 days. Samuel M. Baker, died 09 May 1863, age 2 years, 3 months and 28 days. Child with 2;nd wife: Leno c. Baker, died 16 Nov 1880, age 4 months and 2 days. All of the above are buried at Alvarado Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Jacob Baker, 12 Dec 1837 - 1928, married Lydia H (Aldrich) Baker, 19 Oct 1843 - 1924, daughter of David W. and Polly Aldrich. They are buried at Hamilton Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. John S. Baker, 21 Jan 1831 - 04 Mar 1905, married 1st, Selinda E. (Keyes) Baker, 1837 - 1863. Married 2nd, Catharine B. (Sanxter) Baker, 03 Mar 1846 - 23 Apr 1907. Buried at Alvarado Cemetery. Rev. Nathaniel Baker, 18 Sep 1842 - 04 Jun 1924, married Mrs. Elma (Armstrong) Snook Baker, 28 May 1858 - 06 Oct 1943, daughter of W. K. and Martha (McConnell) Armstrong. Elma's 1st husband was William S.
