KAY LASH COLLECTION, CARNEGIE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF STEUBEN COUNTY, ANGOLA, INDIANA. ELLEN READY GRAHAM BAKER, 19 Feb 1834 - 10 May 1914 Mrs. Ellen Baker was born at Lorane, Penn., Feb. 19, 1834, and departed this life at her home at Clear Lake, Ind., May 10, 1914, aged 75 years, 2 months and 21 days. Mrs. Baker had been a patient sufferer during her last sickness in which she endured untold agonies. She had been steadily failing since the accident a year ago in which her son, Edward Graham, of Clear Lake, was killed instantly by his own gun while hunting, and only four months ago she laid another son, Albert Ready, to rest, and the strain was too much for her in her aged condition. Mrs. Baker was a woman who made hosts of friends wherever she went, which was silently symbolized by the beautiful floral offerings. She will be greatly missed by her friends and neighbors. She leaves to mourn her death an only daughter, Mrs. P. M. Shook, of Camden; James Ready, of Angola, and Samuel Ready, of Toledo, Ohio; Will Ready, of Clear Lake, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, May 12, at Clear Lake church, Rev. Clark, of Camden, officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Camden cemetery by the side of her son.
