Mr. Barr was born in Centre county, PA., Nov. 1, 1791 (should be 1793). In his youth he became a member of the Associate Reform church and continued faithful to the teachings of christianity until his death. July 7, 1824, he married Elizabeth Thompson who died May 9, 1866. On Oct. 20, 1879, he married Mrs. Frederica Freygang who is left to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband. The funeral took place Sunday from the late residence of the deceased, the service being conducted by the Rev. J. V. Hickmott, pastor of the Congregational church. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: James Barr, was born near Bellefonte, Center County, PA., 01 Nov 1973, and died 16 Apr 1881. On 07 Jul 1824, he married his 1st wife, Elizabeth (Thompson) Barr, 12 Sep 1790 - 09 May 1866. On 20 Oct 1879, he married his 2nd wife, Frederica (Weicht) Freygang Barr, 13 Jun 1817 - 04 May 1891. She was the widow of Charles Julius Freygang, 1805 - 07 Aug 1868. She was the daughter of Lewis F. Weicht, 04 Feb 1791 - 31 May 1857, and Frederika (Eckhart) Weicht who died 01 Apr 1857, aged 64 years. They are all buried at Old Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN OF THE FIRST MARRIAGE: Sarah (Barr) Poland, 10 Mar 1825 - 21 Jun 1908, on 13 Jun 1848, became the 1st wife of George W. Poland, 06 Sep 1825 - 13 Jan 1916. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. George was the son of John and Rachel (Cookston) Poland. Benjamin Barr, died in Michigan. James Barr married Caroline (Kain) Barr. Mary Barr Samuel Barr, 05 Apr 1840 - 26 Feb 1895, on 26 Mar 1863, married Emily (Huntley) Barr. Samuel is buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Emily was the daughter of Elijah Huntley, no dates of burial place.
