STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1903, page 3, column 3 MARY ANN (MICHAEL) BAUM, 21 May 1826 - 10 Nov 1903 Mary Ann Michael was born in Susquehanna township, Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, May 21, 1826, and died in Fremont, Indiana, Nov. 10, 1903, aged 77 years, five months and 19 days. January 24, 1850, deceased was united in marriage to Michael E. Baum. During the same year, they moved to Fremont, and the following year the home in which the deceased died was built and has been her home continually for over fifty years. To this union were born six children, three of whom with the husband have preceded her to the other side. The three surviving children, David M. of Chicago, Mrs. E. P. Howe of Ligonier, and Alma M. of Fremont, one sister, three brothers, four grand- children and a host of friends mourn their loss. Early in life, she accepted her Savior. In 1852, she united with the German M. E. church and has been an honored, devoted member to the time of her death, always looking on the bright side of life and submitting all to the will of the Father, who doeth all things well. She was a most patient, loving mother, and her bright christian experience will be a blessed benediction to those who have known her. Funeral at the M. E. church, Thursday, Nov. 12, at 2 o'clock, Rev. T. A. Speckman, pastor of the German M. E. church and Rev. F. C. Reichelderfer of the M. E. church officiating. Mary Ann was the daughter of Philip M. Michael Sr., 20 Apr 1801 - 21 Mar 1870, and Susannah (Fitting) Michael, 06 Apr 1805 - 02 Aug 1864. They are buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN: Susan E. Baum, 1855 - 15 May 1858, buried at Fremont Cemetery. Sarah E. Baum, 1857 - 02 Apr 1858, buried at Fremont Cemetery. Son, Infant Baum, 1859 - 31 Mar 1859, buried at Fremont Cemetery. SIBLINGS: Enos Michael, 1824 - 1890, married Barbara (Dunkel) Michael, 1825 - 1894, buried at Lakeside Cemetery. Jacob Michael, 20 May 1838 - 19 Jan 1916, married Lydia A. (Burdick) Michael, 1841 - 01 Nov 1910, buried at Fremont Cemetery. Joshua Michael died 30 Jul 1881, aged 52 years, 8 months and 29 days. He married 1st, Eve Ann (Lingle) Michael; 2nd- Minerva C. (______) Throne Michael; 3rd, Catharine Ann (Shoup) Michael. They are all buried at Lakeside Cemetery. Philip Michael Jr., 17 Feb 1837 - 01 May 1909, married Martha (Tillotson) Michael, 27 Feb 1839 - 12 Jan 1919, buried at Fremont Cemetery. Sarah (Michael) Stephens, 23 Aug 1833 - 02 Mar 1903, married Joshua Stephens, 06 Oct 1824 - 1891, buried at Fremont Cemetery.
