STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1904, page 4, column 2 VROMAN BECKER, 03 Oct 1847 - 17 Nov 1904 Vroman Becker was born in the state of New York, Oct.3, 1847, and died at his late residence in Angola, Thursday, Nov. 17, 1904, age 56 years, 1 month and 14 days. When a child of two years he came with his parents to Indiana and settled near Ft. Wayne. Later, when grown to manhood, he removed to Montgomery, Mich., and a little more than three years ago came to Angola, here to spend his remaining years. He was married in 1874 to Miss Ann Wolf. Of this union three children were born, Dr. J. D. Becker, Lenna May, now Mrs. Fletcher, and Lulu Blanche. These, together with the faithful wife, four brothers and two sisters survive him. Mr. Becker was a carpenter by occupation. His own new home in Angola was well under way when disease attacked him and rendered him unfit for work. For many months he was an extreme sufferer. Few persons, indeed, are called upon to endure such poignant physical distress as came to him. Notwithstanding, in it all he wrought a good work. The Lord, whom he loved and trusted, he glorified both in living and in dying. While the outward man perished, the inward man was renewed day by day. Mr. Becker was a member of the Angola Christian church. The funeral services were held from his late home, Sunday morning, Nov. 20, and were conducted by the pastor, Elder Vernon Stauffer. The body was laid to rest in Montgomery, Mich. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Vroman Becker, 03 Oct 1847 - 17 Nov 1904, married Rachel Ann (Wolf) Becker, 1850 - no date of death.
