    Was born in Chambersburg, Penn., June 24, 1832, and died at his home in
Angola, Indiana, November 10, 1911, aged 79 years, 4 months and 14 days.
    Deceased was married to Barbara A. Porter, of Richland County, Ohio,
October 12, 1856, and to the union was born seven children, two of whom
survive, Della Benedict, of Los Angeles, California, and Porter Benedict,
of Angola.   Deceased has been a resident of Steuben County for over fifty
years.  He leaves to mourn their loss his aged companion, one son,
daughter, one grandchild, two sisters, a brother and many friends.
    Funeral services were held on Monday in the Christian Church in
Fairview, conducted by Elder C.W. McCord.
