STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, Oct. 14, 1896, page 1, col. 6 JULIUS CRANDAL BISBEE 06 Aug 1838 - 23 Sep 1896 Julius Crandal Bisbee was born on August 6, 1838, in Washtenaw County, Michigan. In 1850 he removed with his parents to a farm near Orland in this county where he spent the years of his youth. On the 31st day of July, 1864, he was married to Phoebe Maria Wolf. This union was blessed with one child. At the age of eleven years he was converted and joined he M. E. church, being a most faithful and active worker. In the fall of 1872 with his wife he moved to Fremont and engaged in the lumber business. He resided in Fremont until the time of his death which occurred early on the morning of Sept. 23d, 1896, being at the time 58 years, one month and 17 days old. In his death the family has lost a kind and faithful husband and father, and Fremont and Steuben County a worthy and honored citizen. The setting sun of his life descended upon a work well done, a battle well fought. His last breath but placed upon his immortal brow the crown of glory that fadeth not away. After many weeks of suffering, death set at liberty a soul for heaven. He leaves a wife and son and a large circle of relatives and friends who mourn his early death, but faith and hope see a glad reunion on the other shore. Funeral services were conducted at the church by Presiding Elder Simpson, of Fort Wayne, and Rev. Stockdale, the resident pastor.
