STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25, 1901, page 1, column 6 MARY ANN (HARMON) BLAND, 10 Mar 1834 - 20 Dec 1901 Mary Ann Harmon was born March 10, 1834, and departed this life December 20, 1901, aged 67 years, 9 months and 10 days. She was married to Wm. Bland in Seneca county, Ohio, May 28, 1863, and moved to Steuben county in October, 1864. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, the husband and daughter preceding her to the spirit world. The deceased united with the M. E. church the winter of 1889 and lived an earnest, consistent christian life. She leaves two sons and one grandchild, four step- children, nine step grand-children, one brother and four sisters. She bore her sufferings with christian patience and shook hands with the family, bidding them all good bye, shortly before her death. Funeral services were held at South Scott church on Saturday morning, December 21, conducted by Rev. A. G. Neal. Burial in cemetery near the church. William and Mary are buried at South Scott Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. His 1st and 2nd wives are not listed in the cemetery books. Children of William and Mary: Emma Catherine Bland, 13 Jul 1867 - 18 Jun 1889. William H. Bland, 1871 - 1903. Thomas H. Bland, 1873 - 1907, married Zalia (Hanna) Bland, 1874 - 1940. Her 2nd husband was Sherman Sawvel who is not listed in the cemetery books. All of the above children and Zalia are buried at South Scott Cemetery. Step-children from William's 1st marriage 30 Mar 1848 to Rhoda (Spiller) Bland: George McDonald Bland, 1849 - 03 Jun 1922, married Marguerite A. (Struble) Bland, 1853 - 25 Aug 1922. They are buried at South Scott Cemetery. Mary E. (Bland) Noragon, no dates, on 13 Nov 1870 married Benjamin Noragon. Place of burial unknown. Four of their children are buried a Sowle Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Nancy Jennie (Bland) Dally, 22 May 1855 - 17 Oct 1882, on 24 Apr 1875, married Marion Dally, 14 Nov 1846 - 21 Mar 1902. She was his 1st wife. Rhoda Anna (Bland) Dally, 22 Jun 1857 - 28 Apr 1917, on 29 May 1883, she married her deceased sister's 1st husband, Marion Dally. He was the son of Vincent and Hannah (Mumper) Dally. Marion and his 2 wives are buried at Teegardin Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Step-child from William's 2nd marriage on 16 Sep 1860 to Louisa (Spiller) Bland: John Martin Bland, 1861 - 1939, buried at South Scott Cemetery.
