STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 1901, page 5, column 4 NANCY OTTILINE (CONGER) BODLEY, 20 Nov 1822 - 19 Apr 1901 Nancy O. Bodley was born Nov. 20th, 1822, and died April 19, 1901, aged 78 years and 5 months. She was united in marriage with John Conklin Bodley, at Plymouth, Ohio, in 1844, and soon after moved to Salem township in this county and settled on a farm. Here they lived for many years and then removed to Angola where they remained until the husband's death. Some time after this she removed to Toledo, Ohio, making her home with her only daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lang. Mrs. Bodley was the mother of seven children. Five of these had preceded her to the grave. Two only remain-Greenwood N. Bodley, of Angola, and Mrs. Sarah Lang, of Toledo. She was a life-long member of the church and trusted in Christ for salvation. Her last sickness was severe and lasted for many months. Funeral services were held at the Block church near Salem on Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. A. G. Neal, and surrounded by neighbors and friends of other years. Her body was laid to rest in the sacred ground where husband and children sleep. Silas Conger's 2nd wife died in Salem Township, no other information available. On 25 Dec 1844, in Toledo, Ohio, Nancy married John Conklin Bodley, 16 Oct 1821 - 25 Aug 1879. He is buried with Nancy at Block Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Children: Alice Hannah Bodley, 02 Feb 1846-17 Mar 1851, aged 5 years, 1 month and 18 days. Myra Bodley died 16 Jan 1871. Steuben County Genealogy Society Quarterly, Vol. 8, No. 2, page 8, states she was 14 years of age at death. Loando Emerson Bodley, 09 Feb 1851 - 25 Aug 1866. Greenwood Newton Bodley, 1853 - 1938, on 17 Dec 1873, married Elva Philena (Lamoreux) Bodley, 1854 - 1934. Sarah Adell/Adele (Bodley) Lang, 1858 - 11 Feb 1944, on 09 Mar 1882, married Augustus Howe Lang, 1857 - 1940, in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. Infant Bodley, 08 Mar 1861 - 09 Mar 1861. Another child died between 1879 and 1901. All of the above are buried at Block Cemetery except Greenwood and Elva Bodley who are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Nancy Ottiline (Conger) Bodley's sister, Albina Leslie (Conger) Butler, 07 Jan 1837 - 04 Aug 1916, on 25 Nov 1858, married Seymour Stevens Butler, 31 Jan 1832 - 20 Apr 1882.
