HENRY A. BRODE
    Henry A. Brode was Born in Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, Sept. 1, 1834, and died Jan. 31, 1915, at the age of 80 years and 5 months.  He was married to Orrilla Knapp, Feb 27, 1856.  To this union were born two children, Mrs. Ida Carson, of Fairmont, Neb., and William H., who died about twelve years ago.  Mr. Brode had been in poor health for several months.  All his life he
was a hard working man, honest and upright in all his dealings.  He appreciated the friendship of the many who were his friends.
    Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Tuesday, Feb. 2nd, conducted by Rev. Nickerson.

    Henry was a son of Frederick and Elizabeth Brode.  The name Orrilla Knapp is a surprise.  "Orrilla" appears to be a simple typo -- she's always been known as Aurilla.  The surname Knapp is a total mystery.  See the obituary for Aurilla Brode.  Henry and Aurilla were married in Ohio, and lived there in Portage County for several years before moving to Angola, sometime before
1870.  I haven't located the marriage records yet, but it looks like I need to.
