STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 1895, page 5, col. 5 LOLA A. POWERS BROOKS At her home in York Township, Steuben County, Ind., April 18, 1895, Lola A. Powers, wife of Frank E. Brooks, aged 34 years, 2 months and 3 days. Deceased was born in York Township in the house where she died. On Sept. 20, 1879, she was united in marriage with Frank E. Brooks, who, with two sons, Lee and Paul, mourn the loss of a wife and mother. She had been in ill health for several months with consumption of the bowels, but not considered seriously ill, hence her death was quite unexpected. She was a faithful member of the Christian church at Metz. Funeral services were conducted by Elder E. A. Cole, of Angola; burial in the Powers cemetery. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Lola A. (Powers) Brooks, 15 Feb 1861-18 Apr 1895, was the daughter of Calvin `Put' Powers, 19 Jan 1834-18 Jun 1911, and Nancy Jane (Clark) Powers, 23 Sep 1840-06 Mar 1906. She married Frank E. Brooks, 26 Feb 1856-17 May 1927, son of William and Mary (Richmond) Brooks. Children: Lee Brooks, 28 Jan 1881-1938 Paul Brooks, born 11 Sep 1884- ? Siblings: Mora A. Powers, 10 Aug 1864-1942, married Dora (Gibbeny) Powers, 1868-1934. Lila A. (Powers) Gundrum, 04 Sep 1866-1944, married Thomas Edgar Gundrum, 30 Apr 1863-1939. Milo A.
