MARY P. (RICHMOND) BROOKS, 24 Dec 1824 - 21 Apr 1900

   Mary P. Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Richmond, 
was born in Wayne county, N. Y., December 24, 1824.  She was 
one of a family of seven children, of whom only two survive 
her-Jennette Wolcott and Charles Richmond.  She moved with her 
parents to York township, Steuben county, October 18, 1841.  
She was united in marriage to Wm. Brooks, of Derbyshire, 
England, May 31, 1848.  To them were born five children, but 
two of whom are living - Frank E. and Luretta.  She has been a 
member of the M. E. church for over forty years.  By her death 
her family is bereft of a loving wife and mother, her 
neighbors of a kind and sympathetic friend.  We mourn not as 
those who have no hope, for our loss is her eternal gain.
     "Blessed are those who die in their Lord."
   Funeral services conducted by Elder D. C. Hanselman at 
Powers' church, Monday, April 23, 1900.

   Frank A. Brooks, 26 Feb 1856 - 17 May 1927, married 1st, Lola A. 
(Powers) Brooks, 15 Feb 1861 - 18 Apr 1895, daughter of Calvin `Put' 
Powers and Nancy Jane (Clark) Powers.  His 2nd wife was Mrs. Emma 
Zeigler, no dates and burial place unknown.
   Luretta (Brooks) Kellogg, 1859 - 1911, married Alonzo Kellogg, 27 
Jan 1862 - 04 Jan 1893.
   Sarah E. (Brooks) McClellan, 21 Oct 1864 - 12 Oct 1890, 1st wife 
of John H. McClellan, 1864 - 1911.  John is buried at Circle  Hill 
Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.
Mary and William and their children are buried at Powers Cemetery, 
Steuben County, Indiana.
