ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Laura (Sweet) Brown, 31 Jan 1805 - 16 Apr 1879, of Stillwater, NY; married Russel Brown, 24 Jan 1805 - 09 Sep 1888. Laura was the daughter of William Sweet of Massachusetts whose name figures conspicuously on the rolls of the Revolutionary War. Russel was the son of Elijah and Elizabeth (Greenfield) Brown. In 1836, Russel and his family moved to LaGrange County, IN.; had more children and assisted materially in the upbuilding of that county. Russell was on the list of people who were over 75 years of age on the first day of June, 1880, who were pioneers in Steuben County, IN. CHILDREN OF THE MARRIAGE: DGTR: PHILENA BROWN, died at the age of 15 years. SON: EZEKIEL BROWN, 28 Jul 1830 - 13 Oct 1909, married in 1855 to Mary Charlotte (Barry) Brown, 25 Dec 1834 - 22 Oct 1896, daughter of John and Mary A. (Darrow) Barry, natives of Orleans County, NY who came to Indiana in 1835. Ezekiel and Mary are buried at Jamestown Cemetery, Staeuben County, IN. SON: WARREN BROWN of LaGrange County, IN. SON: ERASTUS BROWN, attorney and banker of Lincoln, NE, married Jennie (________) Brown. SON: WILLIAM M. BROWN, 06 Mar 1846 - 13 Oct 1919, married Margaret J. (Hopkins) Brown. He practiced law in Angola, Steuben County, IN. They are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Steuben, IN. SIBLINGS OF RUSSEL BROWN: SIS: Sarah (Brown) Tinker married Joseph Tinker and died in Cayuga County, NY. in 1877. SIS: Paulina (Brown) Marsh was the wife of Thomas Marsh of Iowa. BRO: Daniel M. Brown, died in 1876 in Moravia, NY. SIS: Hannah (Brown) Rounds is the wife of Horace Rounds of Cayuga, NY. BRO: Elijah E. Brown of Niles, NY, who has represented his district in the Legislature several terms.
