STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4, 1900, pg.5, col. 4 WILLIAM J. S. BULLARD, 08 Feb 1830 - 28 Mar 1900 DIED at his home in Angola, Ind., March 28, 1900, Sergeant W. J. S. Bullard, aged 70 years and 20 days. Deceased was born in Cayuga county, New York, and came to Steuben county about forty years ago, residing for many years in Scott township. He enlisted as a member of Co. A., 129th Indiana volunteer infantry, Dec. 16th, 1863, and was appointed third duty sergeant, and was honorably discharged June 7th, 1865. He was mustered as a charter member of B. J. Crosswait post No. 150, G.A.R., March 29, 1883, and was a faithful member, and a friend of all the people. His wife survives him. His last request to his comrades was, "Bury me with Grand Army honors, the flag and the badge, at my final muster out." Funeral services were held under the auspices of B. J. Crosswait post, Elder C.
