JOHN BURCH
      John Burch, 78, of Fremont, died last Wednesday afternoon in the
Cameron hospital.
      He was born July 3, 1886 in Otsego township, Steuben county and
had lived in the county most of his lifetime.  At the age of 19 he
became an employee of the New York Central Railroad and continued in
this employment until he retired in 1953.
      Surviving are his wife, Anna; five daughters, Mrs. Ely
Quesenberry, Fremont, Mrs. Hazel Gibbons, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Victor
Marr, Grand Blanc, Michigan; Mrs. Ruth Preston, Jackson, Michigan;
and Mrs. Ken Drushal of Fremont; four sons, Earl, Junior and Robert
Burch, all of Fremont and Rev. Keith Burch of Butler; 28
grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a brother, Ross Burch,
Jackson, Michigan.
      Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the
Beams funeral home in Fremont followed by burial at Napoleon,
Michigan.
